Arista’s Choctaw Charlie, at only 30.25” carries himself with a jaunty elegance and attitude belying his size. Virtually unshown, Charlie, foaled in 1993, is one of the finest Roan Ranger sons in the country today. You can guess his breeding at a glance, and he passes along the much sought after Gold Melody Boy ‘stamp’: beautiful head with a tiny throatlatch, smooth level topline, long upright neck, and exquisite overall balance – the true horse in miniature. Charlie is also poetry in motion, and one of the kindest stallions I have had the pleasure to know.

We were fortunate to be able to pluck Charlie from relative obscurity and bring him to Mocha Miniatures in 2002. Having changed hands several times, he had only 16 registered foals. With a total of 36 registered foals through 2005, 10 are AMHA World Top Ten and Futurity winners, and several with multiple titles, including a World Champion and World Reserve Champion.  Charlie is also grandsire to several more World Top Tens, including Dalmar Boogerman's Summer Angel, the 2006 AMHA Reserve Champion 30-32 Yearling Mare who is also the AMHA Honor Roll leader in that category.

With the help of our accomplished and proven mares, we think Charlie has only just begun. His first three crops for us have been consistently wonderful, including Supreme Halter Champion (under two judges as a weanling) and World Top Ten winner Mocha’s CC Emerald War Chant, and World Top Ten winner Mocha’s CC Cherokee Frostfyre and Mocha's CC Different Drummer,  World Top Ten and World Futurity Champion Mocha's CC Skywalker, and Eastern Championship Top Ten Mocha's CC Cherokee Treasure, all of whom will continue their show careers in national competition.

Every Spring brings a new crop of Charlie foals.  His ladies include our superb matriarch
NFC’s Cherokee Maiden, dam of Frostfyre and Treasure mentioned above, two Cherokee Maiden daughters, Mocha's Cherokee Enchantress and Mocha's Cherokee Angel Feather, both accomplished black tobiano show mares, and several multi titled daughters of our now retired Bar B Boogerman's Queen.

Rowdy

All of these mares trace back to Rowdy, and this has proven to be a wonderful cross for Charlie’s Gold Melody Boy heritage.
